Reception 2024
We are excited to welcome you to our Reception page for new parents and carers which we hope will give you and your child an insight into what life is like in Reception at Hotspur.
We have given a lot of thought to the start of your child’s Reception year to make the transition as smooth as possible and we hope the induction programme we have planned will provide lots of opportunity for you and your child to be welcomed, reassured and part of the Hotspur community from now until the beginning of the new school year.
WELCOME MEETING
We ask all parents and carers to attend a Welcome Meeting on the 3rd or 4th June where you will find out essential information, including your child’s class teacher, and to ask any questions you may have.
Stay and play sessions
On the 19th or 20th June, we will be holding a Stay and Play session within the Reception classroom where there will be a range of activities for your child to engage in. This is a chance for you and your child to meet the Reception team as well as their new classmates and their families.
Individual meetings with the reception team
In July, we will host individual parent and carer meetings with a member of the Reception team. At Hotspur, we believe that no one knows your child better than you! This is an opportunity to let us know anything that will help us to make your child’s start as happy and smooth as possible. The meetings will be spread across three days allowing you to select a timeslot that is most convenient.
