History
Welcome to our history curriculum page, at Hotspur we aim to use our culturally rich local area to give the children the opportunity to develop their historical enquiry skills and knowledge of key time periods. Through their journey across the history curriculum our children will also explore key world events. They will reflect on how historical events impact on the world we live in today, developing well informed opinions and ideas. Children will be inspired to think of the consequences of actions on a bigger scale and consider their role now and in the future. They are able to make links in their learning through the themes of children, invention, invasion, local history and key figures, which run through each unit of work, this ensures a thorough understanding and depth of historical knowledge.
HISTORY TIMELINE PROJECT
This year we are working on a really exciting project to create a large permanent timeline that will stretch through the corridors of our school. This is a collaboration project with Newcastle University and local artist Lucy Farfort.
