Summer Holiday Activities at Hotspur

There's plenty happening at Hotspur this summer! We have an exciting programme of activities for children and their families to enjoy throughout the holidays. Alongside our ever-popular Family Trips, we're delighted to welcome back our Family Drop-in Days, offering fun, relaxed activities for all ages. We're also running our Sports Club, giving children the chance to stay active, develop new skills and have fun with friends in a safe and supportive environment. We look forward to seeing lots of our families over the summer and making the holidays full of memorable experiences together.

SPORTS CLUBS

We have two week-long summer holiday Sports Clubs happening this summer - Nurture & Sports for our Reception - Year 2 and a Sports Club for Year 3 - Year 6. For more information and details of how to book a space, please see below.

FAMILY DROP-IN DAYS

Our Family Drop-in Days are a relaxed and welcoming opportunity for families to stay connected with the school community over the summer holidays. Running from the school field (access via the Top Yard Gate), families are invited to drop in at any time during the session to enjoy a range of arts, crafts and fun activities together.

The sessions also provide a chance to catch up with members of our Pastoral Team, ask any questions, or simply enjoy spending time with other Hotspur families.

For some children, the six-week summer break can feel like a long time away from school. Our Drop-in Days offer a familiar, friendly environment where children can reconnect with staff, maintain routines and feel reassured ahead of the new school year. Whether you stay for a short visit or the whole session, everyone is welcome.

Family Trips 2026

Our weekly Family Trips have been an integral part of Hotspur's summer holiday programme of activities for 15 years. This year, we have five trips scheduled across the six-week summer holiday period. All of the trips are free, with places on the coach allocated as fairly as possible across all of the families that apply to take part. Over the years we have visited many tourist spots and attractions across the North East and we would love this year's trips to be better than ever.

These trips would not be possible without the kind support of the Greggs Foundation’s Feeding Brighter Futures programme, which has provided us with a grant towards the cost of coach hire. We have also been supported by some fantastic venues this year, offering free or heavily discounted entry to their attractions, enabling us to keep the trips free for families.

The destinations, dates and times of the trips are listed below. Please take a look at the information (click on the pictures to find out more about each destination) and then use the form at the foot of the page to request spaces for your family. The deadline for submissions is Friday 3rd July, you will then receive an email by Friday 10th July with your allocation. Demand for the trips is always extremely high, we aim to give all families the opportunity to attend at least one of the trips that they selected.
